“ Stopped and tried this place as I was traveling through. Nice little Bar B Que joint with a great atmosphere. Pros- One of the best tasting potato salads I have had. Sweet Bar B Que sauce was awesome, if your a fan of sweet sauces. Cons- I ordered brisket and turkey. Meat was a little cold when served. Brisket was good but I'm a fan of bark and it had none on it. Flavor was ok but reason I was using sauce. I would stop again there to eat but recommendations are to be sure the meat is warm and serve brisket with the bark on it or have that option. ”

“ We stopped in Clifton, TX. to get gas. One of the locals said Bunkhouse BBQ was under new ownership and back into the original family. Let me tell you this is some damn good BBQ. We had the sausage, brisket (lean), turkey, and ribs. Sausage was great, brisket was nice and tender with good smoke and flavor (no sauce needed), turkey breast had nice and smoky taste and very juicy, ribs were on point (nice tasting glaze). Also tried the sauces all of which were good and can go with several meats. Okra was great, Mac n cheese was good. Make a short trip and try this place out. Great atmosphere and Service, owner knows his Q. ”

“ I ordered the 3 meat plate with coleslaw and potato salad. They were all good and I’m glad I stopped by. I smoke a lot of my own briskets and hardly ever go to BBQ places because you usually feel like you wasted your money. This place served up some great smoked meats and I’ll definitely go back if I’m in the area. He trimmed the brisket perfectly so there wasn’t a thick layer of fat that you see at most places. In the picture, the seasoned turkey was on top and there was plenty of brisket and sausage under it for my “haven’t eaten a thing all day” appetite. ”

“ Do not wait until you get all the way into Clifton to eat. In fact, if you are even remotely hungry, this is a must-stop eatery. It’s a fairly typical vintage-stuff motif, but the atypical thing about it is that all that old stuff attached to the walls...gets dusted. How many places like this have old grease-infused dust caked in all the otherwise adorable decor? Well, not this one. And if they keep all this stuff tidy, I’m guessing the kitchen is clean too. Anyway, as for the fantastic food. I had the brisket and sausage, caked on a baked potato, and it was perfect. ”
